CW Resident Christmas Party

Resident Christmas Party goes ahead despite the rain!

The 2009 Resident Christmas Party went ahead on Sunday 29 November from 2-6pm at Rec 2 oval. As tradition seems to dictate, the rain came at about 3pm which sent the 200 residents running for cover! About 100 residents remained after the rain to enjoy Santa, the jumping castle and Wasp Creek BBQ.

Thanks to everyone who came along and to all our volunteers. A great time was had in a fun, casual environment.

Merry Christmas!!

2009 Tennis Competition

Tennis Competition - Finals Report for Men's Singles, Doubles & Mixed

It was a sensational, sunny day for the second Finals Day in the inaugural Coomera Waters Tennis Competition on Sunday 14 June.

The Men's Singles kicked off at 10.30am and was the story of two Jasons - Jason Sands vs Jason Rayner. In a close battle Jason Rayner came through with the 6-2, 6-3. Both players exhibited wonderful tennis which the contingent of supporters and well-wishers enjoyed immensely.

The Sausage Sizzle lunch went down a treat with players and well-wishers alike (as did the Krispy Kreme donuts!)

At 1.30pm the Men's Doubles final was held between Andrew Coates and Gavin Willams vs Michel Humair and David Tait. In another fabulous match peppered with hard-hitting, clever play and acrobatics, Michel Humair and David Tait took out the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Well done to all our finalists and winners - great work! Thanks also to all our competition entrants and supporters including our brave umpires, Michel Humair (for Womens Singles and Doubles) and Anthony Farr (for Men's Singles and Doubles). This competition has been a success because of all of you!

The Mixed Doubles Final was played on Wednesday 17 June at Rec 2 courts between Wendy Simpson and Fletcher Kirkman vs Kath Biddle and Robert Simpson. Wendy and Fletcher eventually won the match in two sets 6-3, 6-1.
