CW Resident Christmas Parties

2008 Resident Christmas Party a success despite the rain!

The Coomera Waters Resident Christmas Party went ahead on Sun 7 Dec despite storms the night before plus more predicted for that very afternoon. The party started well despite strong winds at the marina location. Wasp Creek Fire Brigade put on a wonderful barbecue offering sausage and steak sandwiches plus drinks and raffles. Snow cones also were a big hit. Jingles the One Man Band entertained the crowd along with our very own Sparky the Clown. Music soothed the crowds which were 500 strong. The Santa hats, candles and glow sticks were very popular.

Then the rain came! And it rained hard for about 40 mins. Residents flocked undercover where Santa made an early appearance to hand out lolly bags to all the kids. Understandably, lots of people went home to escape the rain. However, about 200 people stayed on and enjoyed more music, food and entertainment once the rain passed and then to about 7pm. This included a carols session from the Johnny Young Talent School who sang and danced to all our favourites.

All in all it was a great event interrupted by rain. Thanks to everyone who helped arrange the event and to those who came along. We hope you enjoyed yourselves. Merry Christmas!

2007 Christmas party

The 2007 CW Resident Christmas Party was held at Rec 2 oval on Sun 2 Dec and attracted approximately 800 locals. Even though it was boggy underfoot from overnight rain, everybody had a great time enjoying the band, jumping castle, snow cones, face painting and performances from 'Wally the Clown' and 'Top Shelf Elf'. Santa arrived in the Wasp Creek Fire Truck and entranced all the children with lolly bags. The Rec 2 Playground was also officially opened and was 'broken-in' by hundreds of local children.
Thanks to everyone for attending and joining in all the festive fun!

2006 Christmas Carols by Candlelight

Rain dampened the ground but not the spirits of those attending the CW Carols by Candlelight on Saturday 16 Dec at the grassed area at the marina. About 100 residents braved the conditions to hear lots of local musical acts perform. The evening ended with a visit from Santa who entertained all the kids. Thanks to everyone for coming along!
