Be aware of art scams - May 09
Security is warning residents to be aware of some art scams taking place across the country. These people normally come to your home in late afternoon and in quite large numbers selling artwork. They are offering art for sale but ask for a deposit (normally $180) and don't give you the artwork. If you experience this or are unsure please call Security on 5501 9299. There are some information sheets about this issue on the Noticeboards in both Rec Centres.Walkway Open - April 09
The Western Bay Walkway is now open. PBC1 received legal advice of their ability to open the walkway following Western Bay Body Corporate's decision to temporarily close the walkway just before Easter. PBC1 investigated claims of electrical safety issues on the walkway and have found no faults on the walkway. On a separate issue, the Court Case Appeal has been heard with a decision released recently (mid May 2009) finding in favour of Gold Coast City Council which will see the walkway remain open.
