No Half Ironman Triathlon at Coomera Waters in 2008
Due to the major construction works associated with the Austcorp resort apartments (Coomera Waters Hotel) at the marina, there was no room to stage the 2008 Half Ironman Triathlon at CW this year. Instead, it was held at Calypso Bay on 5 October. Results are above.2007 event report
Coomera Waters did a great job hosting the Gold Coast Half Ironman Triathlon and also the new Quarterman race on Sept 30. There were a record number of competitors—892 in the Half Ironman Individual race, 56 in the Half Team event, 196 in the Quarterman Individual event and 22 in the Quarter Team event.

The winners of each race were:
· Half Ironman Male Open—Paul Matthews, Murwillumbah, 4:03:04
· Half Ironman Female Open—Rina Hill, Samford Valley, 4:33:00
· Half Ironman Team—Team Cycleogical, Highgate Hill, 4:00:42
· Quarterman Male Open—Mark Martin, Yeronga, 2:08:16
· Quarterman Female Open—Jessica Large, Helensvale, 2:22:42
· Quarterman Team—Team Gunnedah, 2:06:22

The Delimart and Tavern did great business on the day. Organisers, USM Events, were terrific and helped us stage a wonderful event that showed Coomera Waters in a fabulous light.
